I am very pleased to
welcome you to the Golders Green Parish website. I invite you to explore our
website and find more out about our parish history and also what we do here at
St Edward's.
We celebrated our Parish Centenary last year. The
foundation of the parish coincided with the building and development of the
Hampstead Garden Suburb by Dame Henrietta Barnett.
Today we are a
diverse community of Catholics from numerous cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Some of our parishioners have lived here for many years, others have joined us
from other parts of the world, including Europe, Africa, the Philippines and
South America. In addition, Golders Green, although with a large Jewish
community, is a multi-faith area and our parish is very involved in Churches
Together and Inter Faith Groups. As a parish, we respond to the many different
needs in both our local community and parish community.
You are very
welcome to join us at any of our services so do please think about
coming along to visit us and to join us in prayer. If you are here for the
first time do come and introduce to either myself, the parish priest (I am
usually in the porch after each Sunday Mass so that parishioners can make easy
contact with me), or the parish Deacon who is present at the Saturday evening,
and Sunday morning Masses), and we will be delighted to meet you. Our coffee
morning after the10.30 am Sunday Mass, provides a great opportunity for you to
meet other parishioners.
May God bless you.
